Toledo

Toledo is like something out of a fairytale. A medieval city built by the Moors and then taken by the Spanish during the Reconquista, it is in pristine condition, the most photogenic town I´ve ever visited. Everything about the town is picturesque -- even the train station!

Lily was excited to see the Alcázar, the Muslim fortress, because when she was here in 2006 it was closed for restoration. It was supposed to have been finished that year but it´s still closed. So that was a bummer. Here she is outside it, overlooking the Rio Tajo:
